Biologics represent a leading frontier of therapy and diagnosis, with a growing interest especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the disadvantageous biopharmaceutical profile of these agent hampers their optimal clinical use. Thus, the development of ad hoc formulation to overcome these issues remain the main challenge for the transformation of these compounds into effective medicinal products. The most recent technological drug delivery approaches provided unique tool to speed up the clinical development and industrialization of biologic-based medicinal products. The aim of this advanced course, that will be held online, is to give an overview of the clinical opportunities and the most advanced delivery strategies for biologics. The program includes speakers with different expertise able to approach the main aspects related to the topics. Suitable time is reserved to the discussion with experts to improve the understanding of the treated issues. Sections of the course will be reserved to the oral and poster presentations by PhD students. The course will end with a workshop in form of parallel round tables where the PhD students will have the opportunity to share their experience and to discuss their research.
